Optimal

Notes

  • Bear coin count: 51
  • This stage makes a lot of use of Squitter instant platforms. After each instant platform there is a cooldown before you can create another one. You can either release the d-pad for a short time or, if you jump from the very edge of a web, you may barely be able to make another one.
  • At 1:02 you can also make it up in 3 webs without jumping on the Rekoil, but you have to make the instant platforms close to the peak of your jumps to get enough height.
  • At 1:18 is an Animal damage boost.
  • In the second bonus you can obtain the coin early if you shoot the bee while it's above the coin. If this shot misses the coin, you'll have to shoot directly at the coin with the crosshair to pick it up.
  • By turning left just before Squitter hits the signpost, you can spawn the keg to the left.

Optimal alternative

Notes

  • Bear coin count: 50 (this variation picks up one less bear coin. The wiki route will assume 51 bear coins were picked up to this point.)
  • The web movement at 0:19 is slightly faster. Make sure you create the platforms close to the peak of your jumps.
  • To get across the pit at 1:00 with one web, don't hold left upon exiting the first bonus and press left a little after Squitter starts falling. You can then jump on the Rekoil and cross the pit in one web.
  • This video makes use of fast webs in three spots. Fast webs remove the cooldown that's normally between instant platforms. To create web platforms, you can either press both shoulder buttons at least 1 frame apart, or you can shoot a web against a wall with one shoulder button. In this case the wall will create the web platform. To perform fast webs, you need to always have at least two webs on screen already, of which the last one was opened against the wall. Each fast web will have its own setup in addition to this.
  • If you get across the pit at 1:00 with one web, you can get the fast web at 1:05 without any additional setup.
  • Jumping over the first bee at 1:17 saves frames.
  • To get the fast webs at 1:34, up to the second bonus, you have to jump out of the pit far enough right to only pick up one of the two bear coins. Also try to not go too wide around the corner at 1:33 before creating the web platform against the wall, check the image below.

  • With an alternative strat listed below you can still pick up the second bear coin.
  • To get the fast webs at 2:09, make the web platform at 2:05 as far left as possible while still grabbing the DK barrel. A potential cue is the small pole to the right of where you exit the second bonus.

EXTRA BEAR COIN WITH FAST WEBS

Notes

  • You can still pick up the second bear coin in the pit before the second bonus, but you need to already have created a web.
  • The rest of the setup is similar to the setup seen in the optimal alternative video. Be careful to make the first three web platforms low enough to still be able to get around the corner.
  • Loses about 1 second compared to the fast webs setup in the optimal alternative video.
