Optimal

Notes

  • Left and right are reversed in the purple water.
  • Don't hold Y at the start, or Dixie will start hovering. Hold right at the start and switch to left + Y once Dixie lands in the water.
  • It is slightly faster to not pick up Kiddy at the start because you will not lose 32 frames (0.53s) from breaking open a DK barrel with Enguarde. It's up to you if you feel like taking this risk at this point in the run.
  • To get into the first bonus just press B once from the bottom of the pipe.
  • The charge cancels as Enguarde can be tricky due to the reversed controls. At 0:47 and 0:51 briefly tap right and at 0:59 briefly tap left to cancel the charge.
  • You can get past the fish at 1:23 without getting hit, but it is extremely tight. If you do get past this fish, switch to Kiddy in the bonus to get him in front for K. Rool.
  • Swimming counterclockwise in the second bonus is slightly faster due to being further to the right at the end.

ADDITIONAL LUNGE

Notes

  • Saves approximately 0.2 seconds.
  • Make sure that Enguarde is far enough right to spawn the bottom Lurchin, or it may hit you during the lunge. To do this, try to line up Enguarde with the upper of the two lines in the background at the start of the video.
