Hey, grats on getting the WR for water%.

However, ZSNES is an ubiquitously banned platform for speedrunning, as is SNES9x 1.4X.

Basically, both SDA and SRL reject it as a valid and fair way of speedrunning, as it does not emulate accurately and saves a lot of time. I guess it is an oversight to not mention it anywhere on the leaderboards here, but I guess it is such widespread knowledge that it is sometimes taken for granted.

I know you have posted 103% times on ZSNES before, but they weren't very competitive and it was deemed fine, as it is judged that you can start out on whichever platform allows you to speedrun. But now that you have are competing for top times in a category, it has to be requested that you switch to an allowed platform, such as console or SNES9x 1.51 or 1.53. Or VC if you can handle the hate.

If you do not reply soon, I will have to sadly remove the time from the leaderboards.

Hey there and thank you for your congratulation :)

First of all i want to say sry that i used that banned emulator, i really didnt know that. I just know that zsnesw is an unpopular emulator with some texture bugs but i always could handle them. I just read that zsnesw doesnt create as much lag as the console would, i really didnt know that because for example in tidle trouble, after dropping out the warp barrel ive got hard lags also.

So is my time completely useless now? From now on i will switch to another emulator and try to beat my time again.

But one thing... ive posted a time in 103 as you have mentioned but you could have told me already there that this emulator is crap and banned. Imagine i would have grinded 103 for sub 2 or so and my time isnt valid -.-

Also sry for that kind of recording, the qualitiy and that i havent used any speedruns tools but my computer cant handle it^^

So i will grind for a better time in future but do i have to remove it? Is it really that much time i have saved from using that emulator?

Cheers Mate

Yes it is an oversight on our end to not mention that ZSNES is not allowed. I guess it is so well-known, it is assumed that if you are going for a WR time you have been around the speedrunning community long enough to know what platforms are banned. I really feel bad about the situation, but unfortunately it will be removed from the leaderboards in a couple days. For the sake of consistency, all other ZSNES times will be removed too. I knew this situation would happen eventually to be honest, and should've done something about it earlier.
