In contrast to the first level, this level is pretty basic. Just a few extended rolls through some enemies and half the level is skipped using the bonus.

Any% - DK Route

  • It's best to get as close as possible to the first Army before rolling since you carry this extended roll all the way through.
  • It's best to jump and get a fresh roll through the first Kritter instead of using the stored extended roll to hit him since this makes it possible to carry the boosted roll as far as possible.
  • Jumping over the Army at 0:10 is a bit tight, a safer option is to stomp him but it's a little slower.
  • Both tree platforms below the O have troll bananas, if you jump too high you'll usually get bounced by one or both of them which loses time.
  • The fadeout into the bonus is delayed by half a second due to banana block but this is unavoidable.
  • Turning left into the pit in the bonus saves 1 frame for some reason.
  • At 0:23 it's much safer to roll the final Kritter from the upper platform, then jump out of the roll before rolling through the final Army. The aggressive strat shown in the video involves running forward, walking for 10 frames to recover stamina, then rolling before getting hit. The second roll must be started from far enough to the right to make it into the exit before the end of the roll, which would dead roll.

Any% - Diddy Route

  • Diddy basically does the exact same thing DK does here but slightly faster and easier.
  • If you can roll all the way over the lower tree platform under the O without hitting it, you'll fall slightly faster and save a few frames.

  • The beginning of the level looks exactly the same as any%.
  • To get into the second bonus, roll from the upper platform and turn around.
  • Assuming perfect overworld movement up to this point, and assuming you haven't died yet, the balloon will always be in the 2nd barrel. It's faster to lose the bonus, so avoid this one.
  • You can use the music to time your jump to the barrel. Ideally you want to touch the ground as quickly as possible after losing the bonus, so you want the game to end while you're on top of the barrel coming down.
  • When you exit the bonus, don't hold right, just wait to land before rolling. If you move right before rolling you'll often miss the ledge and fall into the pit. Since the bonus refills your stamina you don't have to jump out of this roll, you can simply run forward to get the final roll through the Army.
